Provides business solutions through the design, development, modification, integration, and maintenance of software applications that meet business and systems requirements and comply with architectural standards and best practices. Analyze existing system capabilities, provide scope estimates, and establish system design, testing, and debugging. Demonstrate a general understanding of the business or function for which the application is designed as well as business expertise gained through training or financial application experience.
The Expertise and Skills We're Looking for
- Knowledge around API development, microservices, architecting, developing multi-tier internet facing web and mobile applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science (or equivalent)
- Understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms and software engineering standards across object-oriented and functional programming.
- Experience in API Design and Development and Microservices Architecture
- HTTP based APIs, GraphQL, Networking and how the internet works.
- DevOps Toolkit (Kubernetes, Rushhour, DataDog, Jenkins, Splunk)
- AWS ecosystem (EC2, Lambda, Serverless computing)
- Hands-on software development experience in Java Web services and API solutions.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful services, XML/JSON, and modern Application Servers.
- Proficient in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Core and JavaScript.
- Experience in documenting APIs leveraging an API documentation framework (Swagger)
- Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery tools like Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, Stash and Docker.
- Working knowledge of testing frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Spring Test.
- Experience in Agile delivery and methodologies
- Strong team player and communicator.

This team builds towards Fidelity's digital presence. Our engineers enable or lead teams to develop omni channel user experiences and the underlying platforms needed to support our digital presence on a cloud-based infrastructure. You will provide technology expertise, leadership and influencing skills to be accountable for overall technology strategy.
You will participate and/or lead initiatives that supply ideas to improve our products as well as develop your skills, learn modern technologies and languages, and continue to learn while driving talent development across our engineering teams. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who work well in an iterative and fast-paced environment.
