Job description
Our client is seeking a Software Developer in Test II (SDET II) to join an Agile Scrum team focused heavily on API automation, backend applications, and external partner integrations. This individual will serve as a key testing resource for the team and will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and expanding automation coverage for APIs, services, and integrations., Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for APIs, services, and backend applications Create automation coverage for new APIs, integrations, and application functionality Design, enhance, and expand automation frameworks and testing coverage Serve as a primary testing resource for assigned Agile Scrum team initiatives Support testing efforts involving external partners and third-party integrations Perform regression, smoke, integration, and pre-release testing activities Collaborate with developers, BSAs, Product Managers, architects, and external partners Review automation code and ensure alignment with established team standards Execute API testing utilizing Postman Collections and Java-based automation suites Troubleshoot defects and assist with root-cause analysis efforts Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to overall testing strategy Leverage AI-assisted development and testing technologies to improve quality and efficiency

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong API automation experience, solid coding skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external partners., 3+ years of SDET, QA Automation, or Software Test Engineering experience Strong API testing and API automation experience Experience with API testing tools such as Postman/Postman Collections (preferred), ReadyAPI, or similar Strong automation coding experience in Java (preferred) or another Object-Oriented programming language Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium (preferred), Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar Experience building, enhancing, and maintaining automation frameworks Experience testing backend applications, APIs, services, and integrations Ability to work independently and own testing activities for an Agile team Strong communication skills, including interaction with business stakeholders and external partners Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments Ability to adopt and leverage AI-enabled development and testing practices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
AWS cloud experience Experience testing partner integrations and service-oriented architectures Kafka or event-driven architecture testing experience SQL/MySQL experience Maven, Git, Jenkins, or Harness experience Experience with AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar Experience mentoring junior engineers or serving as a lead testing resource on a team
