Job description
A company in the Boulder, CO area is looking for multiple Software/Algorithms Engineers to join their team in support of classified programs. The SW/Algorithms Engineers are a combination of aerospace and software engineers responsible for missile tracking/prediction and physics-based C++ software development. Day to day duties will include researching and identifying highly complex and multi-faceted problems as well as designing/implementing algorithm solutions for a broad range of sensor exploitation activities for the identification, characterization, interpretation, and change detection of objects/events. IR sensor data is received and used for state estimation and prediction, satellite positioning and tracking and creates and accurate 3D track state to determine missile trajectory. The Algorithm engineer will participate in technical peer reviews and work with various Integrated Product Teams and have the ability to communicate and present technical findings and approaches. The Algorithms Engineer will also be responsible for receiving IR sensor data and simulated data to be used for state estimation and prediction, satellite positioning and tracking. Responsibilities will also include evaluating system performance, tracking residuals, coding and integration into systems and working through assigned defects. This is a contract to hire for a large aerospace and defense technology company in Boulder, CO.
Requirements
Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
- STEM Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in C++ programming (full life-cycle) -- This position requires 50-60% hands on programming and Algorithm Development
- Experience with Python or Matlab scripting
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems
- Background in Aerospace, Mathematics or Physics (emphasis on OPIR sensors, object tracking and/or state estimation and prediction)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of state estimation and prediction,
- Working knowledge of sensors, OPIR, electro-optical, image/signal processing
- Familiarity with Kepler, Kalman and polynomial algorithms for object tracking
- Experience with OPIR sensors or related
- Experience with microservices, containerization, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies, etc.
Benefits & conditions
Pay Range: ~$90K-155K annually. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
