Job description
Operate, clean, and monitor filtration and centrifuge equipment to meet production and quality requirements.
- Perform product transfers, connect and disconnect hoses, fittings, and valves, and support general cellar operations.
- Batch, measure, stage, and add ingredients for seltzers, liquor bases, and other products according to production specifications.
- Use basic production math to confirm volumes, calculate additions, verify targets, and maintain batching accuracy.
- Complete accurate documentation for batches, transfers, filtration runs, chemical use, cleaning records, and production system entries.
- Safely handle brewery chemicals and perform cleaning-in-place (CIP) procedures while following all PPE and safety requirements.
- Balance multiple duties at once, including transfers, batching, cleaning, equipment monitoring, sanitation, and support for other brewing areas as needed.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, follow through without constant supervision, and communicate issues or delays promptly.
Requirements
FX Matt Saranac Brewing Co. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Filterman to join our Brewery Operations team. This hands-on production role supports filtration, centrifuge operations, cellar work, and batching ingredients for seltzers, liquor bases, and other products. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, comfortable with physical work, accurate with basic math and documentation, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. This role has a direct impact on product quality, consistency, and food safety., 2nd Shift Position
- 1+ year of beverage or food production experience preferred.
- Strong basic math skills for measuring ingredients, calculating additions, confirming volumes, and checking production accuracy.
- Excellent documentation habits with the ability to record information clearly, accurately, and on time.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of process flow.
- Reliable and safety-minded, with the ability to work independently while supporting the team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality, with the ability to be ready to work at the start of each scheduled shift.
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching while progressing through documented training steps as part of the apprenticeship pathway.
- Computer literacy for logging, monitoring, and reviewing production data.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
