Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to support, optimize, and secure enterprise network environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of customer networks, systems, and infrastructure., * Install, configure, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN infrastructure including routers, switches, VPN appliances, load balancers, and security devices.

  • Apply timely security patches to network infrastructure, including routers, switches, voice/video systems, and security appliances.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance using industry-standard tools; troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of network hardware, software, and related assets.
  • Provide design recommendations and technical input during engineering meetings and project planning.
  • Support data center network infrastructure, storage, and virtualization systems; assist with infrastructure expansion.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, networking trends, and security best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues affecting voice, video, and data services; schedule upgrades and optimizations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in routing, switching, and Firewall configuration for complex LAN/WAN environments.
  • Support Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, including system security integration with network services.
  • Prepare detailed reports on network performance, incidents, upgrades, and infrastructure status.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, providing timely software and hardware support.
  • Participate in team meetings, share insights, and lead or assist in network-related projects.
  • Implement and enforce network security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Assist with planning and implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues or escalate when necessary.

This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS). Compensation and fringe benefits will be provided in accordance with the applicable U.S. Department of Labor wage determination and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and enterprise network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred).
  • Proficiency with monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, LogicMonitor, Dynatrace, Splunk, or ServiceNow.
  • Understanding of ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management.
