Job description

The Enterprise Systems Manager leads the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the firm's enterprise application portfolio. This role is accountable for the reliability, scalability, and security of critical business systems and for driving continuous improvement in system performance and user experience., This is a hybrid position is based in Philadelphia, PA and requiring 3 days per week onsite (Tu, Wed, Th). Onsite requirements may evolve over time., * Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and development for a team of enterprise systems engineers, ensuring alignment to operational priorities and strategic objectives.

  • Define and enforce architectural and operational standards for the enterprise application portfolio, with accountability for system availability and execution of maintenance activities.

  • Lead 24x7 Tier 3 application support, including active management of support queues, direct participation in issue resolution, and leadership during planned maintenance windows with a focus on minimizing backlog and resolution time.

  • Drive continuous improvement in application performance, scalability, security, and user experience through proactive monitoring, modernization, and operational optimization. Expand and maintain team documentation and the issue resolution knowledge base to improve efficiency and reduce time to resolution.

  • Partner with the Infrastructure and Data teams to plan, execute, and validate disaster recovery exercises, and to ensure the ongoing integrity, availability, and security of enterprise systems and data.

  • Own the full application lifecycle, including planning, deployment, support, optimization, and retirement. Maintain a complete and accurate inventory of the firm's application portfolio.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to align technology solutions with business objectives and ensure successful delivery of initiatives.

  • Lead testing and validation efforts for new implementations and major upgrades, ensuring systems meet performance, security, and resiliency requirements.

  • Promote and enforce best practices in architecture, security, and operational governance, including adherence to departmental standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical growth, accountability, and knowledge sharing. Partner with the Helpdesk Manager to identify skill gaps and improve L1 and L2 support capabilities.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend investments that improve efficiency, reduce risk or cost, and enhance user experience.

Requirements

The role requires strong leadership, a customer-focused mindset, and a proven ability to deliver secure, high-performing solutions-ideally within a legal or professional services environment., * Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise application design, implementation, and operations.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing technical teams.
  • Experience supporting legal technology platforms, including document management systems (iManage preferred).
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows environments and Active Directory, including identity and access management (SSO).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and manage vendor relationships.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
