Senior Platform Software Engineer

Exceptional candidates with solid technical expertise and some exposure to telecom or wireless environments will also be considered. * No Job hoppers and need 5 years older LinkedIn Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to build and enhance scalable backend platforms powering next-generation 3D positioning and IoT solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Python, AWS cloud services, and distributed microservices, with a strong background in system design, cloud infrastructure, and backend architecture. You'll work in a fast-paced Agile environment, owning projects from design through production while optimizing performance, reliability, and scalability. Required Skills * 8+ years of backend software engineering experience * Strong Python development experience building scalable distributed systems * Extensive AWS experience, including ECS/EKS, Kinesis (or Kafka), RDS/PostgreSQL * Experience designing and developing microservices using REST APIs and WebSockets * Strong system design skills, including API design, scalability, and architecture decisions * Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, PyTest, and PyUnit * Hands-on experience with Git and Linux/Unix environments * Experience optimizing application performance and system reliability * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Comfortable working in Agile teams supporting US Pacific Time Zone Preferred Skills * Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) * OpenAPI * Grafana & Prometheus * Distributed data processing and persistence systems * Performance tuning and debugging complex distributed applications * JIRA * Technical leadership or mentoring experience * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Nice to Have * AI/LLM experience (Agentic AI, MCP Servers, model development) * FastAPI * IoT device management * Machine Learning workflows * Frontend technologies (React, NestJS, JavaScript, CSS) * Mobile or web application development experience Key Responsibilities * Design and develop scalable backend services using Python and AWS * Build reliable microservices supporting 3D indoor positioning and IoT platforms * Develop REST and WebSocket APIs following OpenAPI standards * Improve system scalability, performance, monitoring, and cost optimization * Implement CI/CD best practices and maintain high code quality * Collaborate with frontend, edge software, and cross-functional engineering teams * Lead projects from architecture through deployment * Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction and engineering best practices Mandatory Requirements * US Citizen
