Initial onboarding/build phase: Approximately 5-7 hours per week

As we continue building our organizational foundation, we are seeking a Director of Digital Infrastructure & Innovation to join our Leadership Team. This volunteer leadership opportunity is ideal for a technology professional who is passionate about using innovation to strengthen organizations and expand community impact.
This role extends far beyond website management. You will help shape and lead Rise Together's digital ecosystem by developing scalable technology solutions that strengthen collaboration, streamline operations, improve community engagement, and position the organization for long-term growth.
As a member of the Leadership Team, you will collaborate with leaders across Strategy & Growth, Development & Compliance, Operations, Marketing & Communications, and Partnerships & Community Engagement to ensure our digital infrastructure evolves alongside our mission., The Director of Digital Infrastructure & Innovation provides strategic leadership for Rise Together's technology ecosystem. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our existing website while helping design, implement, and manage the broader digital infrastructure that supports volunteers, donors, community partners, and the families we serve.
The ideal candidate enjoys balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution, bringing forward innovative ideas and practical technology solutions that help the organization operate more effectively today while preparing for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Infrastructure Strategy

Lead the development and execution of Rise Together's digital infrastructure strategy.

Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that support organizational growth and long-term sustainability.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, systems integration, AI, and emerging technologies.

Develop scalable digital solutions that support volunteers, donors, community partners, and the families we serve.
Website & Digital Experience

Maintain, enhance, and continuously improve the Rise Together website.

Develop new pages, forms, landing pages, and digital resources as organizational needs evolve.

Improve website performance, accessibility, responsiveness, user experience, and search engine optimization (SEO).
-
Ensure a consistent, engaging, and mission-focused digital experience across all online platforms.
Systems & Technology

Support integrations between the website and organizational platforms.

Evaluate collaboration platforms, CRM solutions, donor platforms, volunteer management systems, and other digital technologies.

Develop documentation, standards, and best practices that support long-term sustainability.

Recommend technology solutions that improve organizational effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Innovation & Future Growth

Research AI, automation, and emerging technologies that can expand the organization's impact.

Help shape future digital initiatives such as volunteer portals, online resource hubs, learning platforms, community engagement tools, and mobile applications.

Provide strategic recommendations that position Rise Together for sustainable digital growth.
Leadership & Collaboration

Serve as an active member of the Leadership Team.

Collaborate across departments to align technology with organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.

Participate in leadership meetings and organizational planning.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and thoughtful problem-solving.
Requirements
We're looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following:

Website development and management

WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or similar content management systems

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or modern web technologies

Website hosting, DNS, domains, SSL certificates, and web administration

CRM platforms and third-party integrations
-
Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Google Workspace, or similar collaboration platforms

UX/UI design and accessibility best practices

SEO optimization, website analytics, and performance optimization
-
Digital transformation, systems implementation, or technology strategy
Experience working with nonprofit organizations is preferred but not required.
