Job description
- Plan, design and develop web-based user interfaces for Deswik products
- Design page structures, screen layouts, and navigation systems to support ease of use and efficient access to information
- Develop visual design elements including colour schemes, typography, spacing, iconography, and responsive layouts
- Prepare high-quality design artefacts, including detailed mock-ups, interactive prototypes, and reusable interface components
- Translate technical and functional requirements into clear, visually structured web interfaces tailored to the intended audience
- Integrate and present complex data from multiple sources in a way that supports interpretation and decision-making
- Establish and maintain consistent visual design standards across applications, including style guides and component libraries
- Produce detailed design specifications for front-end implementation, including element sizing, positioning, and interaction states
- Evaluate published web interfaces, identifying opportunities to improve usability, navigation, and visual clarity
- Refine designs based on user feedback, usage data, and evolving application requirements
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience in a UI UX or Web Designer role, ideally within a product or technical environment
- Background in human factors, psychology, or a related field. Degree qualification highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience designing web-based interfaces with a focus on layout, navigation, and information architecture
- Strong understanding of visual communication principles, including hierarchy, colour, typography, and spacing
- Experience producing production-ready design specifications and assets for front-end development
- Typescript and React front-end skills
- Data visualization experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research capability
