Grant Leading Technology is seeking a candidate Senior Cloud Cybersecurity Specialist / SME to join our dynamic team. The candidate will support the modernization and security transformation of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This position will provide technical leadership and cybersecurity expertise in the design, implementation, assessment, and continuous monitoring of cloud-native and hybrid enterprise data environments.
The successful candidate will serve as a cybersecurity advisor to program leadership, architects, engineers, and stakeholders, ensuring that modernization efforts comply with federal cybersecurity mandates while enabling secure access to enterprise data assets, analytics platforms, and cloud services. The role requires expertise in cloud security, Zero Trust Architecture, Risk Management Framework (RMF), DevSecOps, and federal information security requirements.
This position will be remote and part-time, averaging 27 hours per week. Hours need to be worked between 7 am and 6pm EST.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the IRS Enterprise Data Platform modernization initiativeLead the development and implementation of cloud security strategies, architectures, and security controls across enterprise data platformsProvide guidance on cybersecurity requirements throughout system development, cloud migration, and modernization effortsEnsure compliance with federal security mandates including FISMA, NIST RMF, Treasury directives, and IRS cybersecurity policiesLead security architecture reviews and evaluate proposed cloud solutions for security, privacy, and compliance impactsSupport system authorization and accreditation activities, including Authority to Operate (ATO) packages and ongoing authorization requirementsDevelop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including: System Security Plans (SSPs)Security Assessment Reports (SARs)Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)Security Architecture DocumentationContinuous Monitoring Plans Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and security impact analyses for cloud-hosted systems and enterprise data servicesCollaborate with cloud engineers and DevSecOps teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation processesOversee vulnerability management activities, remediation planning, and compliance reportingEvaluate and implement cloud-native security technologies and monitoring solutionsSupport security incident response, forensic investigations, and root cause analysis activitiesProvide technical leadership for implementation of Zero Trust Architecture principles across the enterprise data ecosystem
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical disciplineMinimum of ten (10) years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, cloud security, or security architectureMinimum five (5) years of experience securing cloud environments supporting enterprise-scale systemsDemonstrated experience supporting federal cybersecurity compliance programsExtensive knowledge of: NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)NIST SP 800-53 Security ControlsFISMA RequirementsFedRAMP Security StandardsZero Trust Architecture Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and continuous authorization activitiesStrong understanding of enterprise security architecture, identity management, and cloud-native security servicesExperience working with highly sensitive or regulated data environmentsMust be able to pass a Minimum Background Investigation or (MBI) background checkMust live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States
