Job description
As a Senior Computational Linguist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Supporting clinical Natural Language Understanding (NLU) system by maintaining and improving grammars, parsers, and terminologies.

Extracting, manipulating, and analyzing textual data and annotations using Python and batch scripts.

Determining solutions and priorities for NLU issues and enhancement requests. Implementing and testing solutions in coordination with clinical, technical, and business teams.

Willingness to be on-call, Onboarding Requirement: To improve the onboarding experience, you will have an opportunity to meet with your manager and other new employees as part of the Solventum new employee orientation. As a result, new employees hired for this position will be required to travel to a designated company location for on-site onboarding during their initial days of employment. Travel arrangements and related expenses will be coordinated and paid for by the company in accordance with its travel policy. Applies to new hires with a start date of October 1st 2025 or later.
Requirements
Bachelor or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND Three (3) years of experience in Computational Linguistics., High School Diploma/GED AND a minimum of Ten (10) years of experience in software development (course work and internship experience considered) in lieu of the bachelor's degree education requirement., * Two (2) years of professional experience with grammars and parsing, corpus analysis.
- Two (2) years of professional experience with data annotation or medical coding and documentation.
- Experience with regular expressions.
- Four (4) years of experience in software development (course work and internship experience considered).
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree in a Linguistics or related field with an emphasis on computational linguistics, corpus analysis, syntax/morphology or related.
- Experience with Python.
- Proficiency with regular expressions.
- Experience handling/transforming different formats including HTML, XML, JSON.
- Experience with GitHub (merge/resolve conflicts) or other version control.
- Experience with Java.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
