Job description
As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a high-performing engineering delivery team, contributing to the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of software components that support mission-critical and enterprise systems.
You will operate under general direction and be responsible for the reliable execution of assigned software engineering tasks within established engineering, quality, and service management frameworks.
Working within secure and complex environments, you will apply sound software engineering practices to design, build, test, and support maintainable software solutions. You will collaborate closely with other software engineers, system engineers, and stakeholders to implement solutions in accordance with defined requirements and delivery expectations.
You Will Also
- Design, develop, integrate, and test software components aligned with requirements and standards
- Contribute across the full SDLC, from planning through deployment support
- Write secure, maintainable, and testable code using approved tools and frameworks
- Perform coding, unit testing, and support system integration and deployment activities
- Apply established patterns, APIs, and integration approaches to build effective solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine defects, supporting investigations and escalating complex issues
- Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to documentation, process improvement, and team knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Relevant degree in Computer Science/IT (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a software engineer delivering production systems across the SDLC
- Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g. Java, Python, JavaScript, C#)
- Experience building or integrating APIs/services (e.g. REST)
- Familiarity with development tools (source control, issue tracking) and collaborative workflows
- Understanding of secure, quality-focused development within structured or enterprise environments (Agile, CI/CD, containers a plus)
_Due to the nature of the role, you must be an Australian Citizen and hold an active TSPV security clearance, accompanied by the ability to be successful for a DISA.
