Job description
As an Azure Cloud Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and mission-aligned Microsoft Azure cloud architectures for government agencies. You will lead the technical vision for Azure-based solutions and ensure the environment supports both immediate and long-term organizational goals., * Designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable cloud architectures using Microsoft Azure services and capabilities.
- Leading Azure migration strategies including rehosting, re-platforming, and refactoring of applications and workloads.
- Building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or Ansible.
- Defining and governing Azure architecture standards and frameworks to support high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
- Applying Azure security best practices and compliance frameworks (such as FedRAMP and NIST 800-53), including identity and access management and Zero Trust principles.
- Managing Azure cost optimization, resource monitoring, and performance tuning for cloud-native services.
- Implementing and operating containerized environments using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and related Azure container tools.
- Integrating Azure services with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to support automated provisioning, testing, and deployments.
- Leading technical design sessions and collaborating with stakeholders to align Azure architecture with mission and organizational objectives.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience. AZ 305 Azure Solutions Architect certification preferred.
Minimum Experience: At least 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience designing and managing cloud-based solutions with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments is beneficial.
Security Clearance: The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Public Trust access., Years of Experience 10 + years of related experience
