Job description

We are looking for a HIL / System Test Engineer to support projects for a global commercial vehicle manufacturer. In this role, you will be responsible for system and component testing in HIL/SIL/MIL environments, as well as E/E function-level testing directly on the vehicle. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and quality of automotive software and systems., * Develop and implement automated test casesbased on system and software requirements using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, AutomationDesk, or Python

  • Create, update, and optimize test cases and test suites
  • Plan, execute, and document integration and validation testsin HIL, SIL, and MIL environments
  • Perform smoke, regression, and E/E function-level system testsdirectly on the vehicle
  • Design and configure HIL test benchesincluding real ECUs, sensors, actuators, and simulation models for powertrain, ADAS, body, or chassis systems
  • Integrate and maintain plant modelsthat replicate physical vehicle behavior for control unit interaction
  • Define signal interfaces, I/O mappings, and perform rest bus simulationusing tools like CANoe or dSPACE tools
  • Execute functional, regression, and error-injection testson the HIL system and support debugging of software issues
  • Analyze test results and signal traces, identify issues, and report them in defect management tools
  • Maintain traceabilitybetween test cases and system requirements
  • Document test procedures, logs, and results, and track software bugs
  • Maintain and update test automation frameworks, toolchains, version control (e.g., Git), and HIL test assets
  • Update HIL laboratory **test benches (HW & SW)**for each new integration stage (I-Stage)
  • Track tasks and update status in JIRA, Confluence and other internal tools
  • Support technical documentationfor test processes in the relevant toolchain

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical-Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other automotive-related programs
  • Hands-on experience with HIL platforms(e.g., dSPACE, NI, Vector VT System)
  • Experience with HIL-related software such as AutomationDesk, ControlDesk, or TestStand
  • Strong skills in MATLAB/Simulinkfor model-based development and signal processing
  • Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay, and rest bus simulation
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, CAPL, VBScript) for automation and test execution
  • Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, and system validation methodologies in the automotive context
  • Ability to analyze signal traces, debug test results, and collaborate with developers and integration teams
  • Clear documentation and communication skills, with structured reporting to cross-functional teams
  • Technical English reading/writing/speaking skills at minimum B2 level
  • Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and organized work habits
  • Proficiency in tools like CANoe, CANalyzer
  • Familiarity with requirements and test management tools(e.g., DOORS, Polarion)
  • Understanding of automotive system architectures and ECUs
  • Knowledge at system/sub-system level in electric and diesel vehicles
