Job description

The IT Support Specialist supports all user desktop hardware and applications. This position performs a wide spectrum of IT tasks and requires both general and specific knowledge in many areas. The IT Support Specialist is a direct interface with Corden Pharma computer users., Include the following. Other duties will be assigned. User Support:

  • Provide support and training to all users on all company-wide network systems
  • Track user support requests and system failures through the Help Desk System; assign tickets to other IT personnel, as needed
  • Configure and install PC hardware and software, to include upgrades and special configuration scenarios
  • Configure and support all company approved mobile devices and applications
  • Provide new employees with an orientation of the computer systems and procedures
  • Handle inventories, files, and other IT-related data processing tasks
  • Add new users in Microsoft AD as specified by account requests and perform other administrative functions within AD
  • Provides support for the Agilent OpenLab environment

Network Support:

  • Troubleshoot and fine-tune: print queues, print servers, connectivity issues, client configuration(s) as required, and monitor systems
  • Recommend, install, and configure LAN equipment, PCs, peripherals, and software
  • Assist in obtaining specifications and selecting computer software and equipment based on various factors including user needs and productivity
  • Maintain documentation for all hardware and software
  • Maintain and troubleshoot company cellular and VoIP Phone Systems
  • Provide Conference Room Services: video conferencing support, AV setups, etc., Provides guidance where appropriate. Participates in the budget process as required., Every individual is personally responsible for the safety and environmental aspects of his or her activities in the workplace. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions., Associate Degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school, and 2 years related experience preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience would be acceptable. IT related certifications are a plus., Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, These are the specific areas of knowledge, skill and ability that are important for successful job performance. They must be job related and consistent with business necessity.

  • Good knowledge of computer systems (software and hardware)
  • Basic Active Directory administration experience
  • Familiarity with virtualization software, i.e., VMWare
  • Desktop/laptop imaging experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows XP/Windows 7/Windows 10
  • Should have some experience in a networked client-server environment (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (2010/2013/2016)
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • This position requires excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be a team player and can multi-task
  • Project management skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies

Benefits & conditions

$25 - $27 an hour - Temporary, Full-time, Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. BENEFITS - This is not a Corden Pharma Employee position. This position is employed through a temporary agency. Benefits are those provided by the temporary agency.
