Job description
The Testing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Testing & Failure Analysis Laboratory, ensuring testing activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards. This position supervises laboratory technicians, coordinates testing schedules, monitors equipment readiness, and supports continuous process improvements while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet operational objectives., * Supervise daily laboratory testing activities to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely completion of testing requirements.
- Coordinate testing priorities and schedules to meet production and engineering deadlines.
- Monitor compliance with laboratory procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Review testing data and ensure accurate documentation of results.
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, coach, and mentor Testing & Failure Analysis Technicians.
- Assign daily workloads and monitor team productivity.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Coordinate employee training, onboarding, and cross-training initiatives.
- Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and staffing recommendations as needed.
Equipment & Laboratory Management
- Ensure laboratory equipment, testing fixtures, and tools remain operational and properly maintained.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and equipment calibration.
- Monitor laboratory inventory including testing materials, spare parts, and consumables.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements to increase testing efficiency.
- Maintain organized laboratory work areas and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Testing Process & Quality Control
- Ensure standardized testing procedures are followed consistently.
- Review failure analysis reports and verify root cause investigations.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor laboratory performance metrics and prepare operational reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing methods, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
Systems & Technical Support
- Oversee laboratory computer systems, test environments, and data management processes.
- Support Linux and Windows operating systems utilized within the testing environment.
- Maintain testing scripts, firmware versions, software configurations, and testing databases.
- Ensure integrity and security of laboratory data and documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, RMA, and Customer Support teams.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to review product issues, testing results, and corrective actions.
- Support engineering validation testing and new product introductions.
- Communicate laboratory priorities and project status to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in electronics testing, failure analysis, laboratory operations, or manufacturing testing environments.
