Job description

  • Develop and maintain cycle count strategies (ABC classification, frequency, scheduling) aligned to risk and stock criticality.
  • Own root cause analysis for recurring inventory variances and implement corrective actions with warehouse and upstream/downstream teams.
  • Maintain inventory master data integrity (locations, SKUs, serials, lots, UOMs) within ERP/WMS platforms.
  • Support inventory forecasting and replenishment planning by analyzing trends, velocity, ageing, and obsolescence risks.
  • Ensure accurate inventory transactions across the full lifecycle: receiving, put away, picking, shipping, returns, and disposals.
  • Partner with Finance on inventory valuation, write offs, reserves, and period end reconciliation activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on shrink reduction, inventory accuracy KPIs, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Provide inventory data and documentation to support regulatory, compliance, and financial audits.

Requirements

  • Strong root cause analysis capability for variances, process failures, and data integrity issues
  • Hands on experience with ERP/WMS platforms, mobile scanning (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and transaction level inventory controls
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, variance analysis, trend reporting)
  • Ability to translate inventory data into clear, actionable insights for operations and leadership
  • Strong understanding of cycle counting methodologies, inventory accuracy KPIs, and reconciliation practices
  • Process discipline with the confidence to challenge non-compliant behaviours in warehouse operations
  • Stakeholder management skills across warehouse, procurement, logistics, finance, and IT teams

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on inventory management or inventory control experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Proven experience executing cycle counts, physical inventories, and variance investigations end to end
  • Experience supporting internal, external, or SOX aligned audits related to inventory accuracy and controls
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and reconcile inventory across multiple systems and physical locations
  • Background in warehouse operations, supply chain, logistics, or asset management preferred
