Job description

ADAS Applications Design and Release (D&R) Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Apply Global Product Development System process. Analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and develop corrective actions to optimize processes and achieve desired outcomes. Participate in system definition and program set-up (including Bill of Material, Work planning). Comply with Program cost, weight, quality, performance and timing targets. Ensure components are properly packaged for each vehicle application. Comply with Robustness Engineering Disciplines (CPA, Quality History, P-Diagram, FMEA). Apply six sigma and 8D issue resolution processes. Conduct Design Validation at the breadboard and in vehicle. Sign off on Compliance Demonstration Plan and Report. Support the Sourcing Process (investment, piece price and tooling cost reviews). Prepare initial and final sourcing documents. Follow the Technical Design Review process. Ensure Programs deliverables are met on time and with the highest quality, utilizing FEDEBOM, Teamcenter, Global Integrator, Packaging/Digital Buck, DPA Checks, WERS, eFDVS, Subsystem/Supplier work plans, DVP&R, and Engineering Sign-off. Release parts through the product life cycle. Support Change Control meetings. Audit and update Bill of Material with correct part levels and usage, for all builds and post Job 1. Identify validation, durability and functional test required. Define and verify engineering prototype requirements at part level. Parts implementation and sign-off in assembly plant and assistance with quality issues in all milestones. Review and manage program direction letter revisions and proceed accordingly if affected. Support prototype and vehicle launches. Give technical assistance to supplier through the Supplier Engagement Process. Domestic Travel Required up to 20%.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Vehicle integration of electronic control unit (ECU) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensors (RGB cameras, Interior Monitoring cameras, infrared cameras, ultrasonic sensors, or radars). 2. Managing sensor and ECU hardware and software design and release activities through the product life-cycle. 3. Managing Bill of Material (BOM) for ECU and sensors, including Change Control. 4. Utilizing Teamcenter CAD tool to review ADAS sensor packaging in vehicle and to perform CAD sign-off. 5. Utilizing methodologies, 8-D and Three-legged 5-Why, and mobilizing multiple engineering teams for root cause analysis. 6. Supporting automotive supplier Sourcing Process to ensure alignment on ED&T, Tooling, and Piece Price associated with ADAS ECU and sensor hardware or software. 7. Applying Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) and Robustness Engineering disciplines: Change Point Analysis (CPA), Quality History, and P-Diagram. 8. Collaborating with automotive supplier to lead regular Vehicle Program meetings, visit manufacturing locations, and manage issue resolution. 1 year of experience with the following skill is required: 1.
