Job description
Owns database engineering, administration, and ETL operations for the SQL Server environment and the Data Repository/Warehouse, ensuring data integrity, performance, and accurate technical documentation (data dictionary, ERDs) across the system's operations and maintenance lifecycle., Administer the SQL Server Database Engine, SSIS packages, and Service Broker supporting client and Data Repository/Warehouse ETL processes. Perform data corrections, refreshes, and migrations as requested by the COR. Monitor andmaintainscheduled ETL jobs, batch processes, and database-dependent APIs; report on performance and downtime. Maintain and deliver an updated Entity Relationship Diagram and Data Dictionary with every release thatimpactsthe database schema. Apply database patches and upgrades,generally scheduledoutside CPSC business hours. Perform logical and physical data modeling (Erwin) for new development and enhancements. Lead root-cause analysis and remediation of data-related defects and database security vulnerabilities. Coordinate with the development team on schema changes and integration with other agency systems and data platforms.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field., Minimum of 8 years of applicable experienceExpert-level SQL Server administration (Database Engine, SSIS, Service Broker).ETL design, development, and performance tuning.Logical and physical data modeling using Erwin.T-SQL development and query optimization.Windows Server administration; working knowledge of IIS.Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability production databases., Familiarity with Elasticsearch and/or Redis in a supporting capacity.Experience with federal data security andPII-handlingrequirements (NIST, FISMA, Privacy Act).Prior experience supporting a government incident-management or case-management data warehouse.Git, GitHub, and Azure DevOps experience.
