Software Engineer- Data & AI Platform

The Data Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer with strong Python expertise and hands-on experience with modern AI-assisted software development tools to help design and build libraries, frameworks, services, and AI-enabled developer capabilities for working with big data on AWS.

The team delivers the core building blocks used to develop data pipelines on the Edison big data platform. This multi-tenant AWS platform is a key enabler of the client's digital acceleration and AI initiatives, supporting deployments across five countries, with Belgium operating the largest environment.

Requirements5-7 years of professional software engineering experience (medior to senior level preferred). Strong Python programming skills with solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices. Strong technical analysis, architecture, and design skills. Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants. Experience designing AI agents, developer tooling, plugins, prompt engineering, or AI-enabled software development workflows is highly desirable. Experience building scalable software for cloud environments. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Passion for delivering high-quality software and reliable releases. Ability to balance tactical delivery with long-term architectural vision. Strong ownership mindset and decision-making ability. Experience mentoring and collaborating across multiple engineering teams.
