Job description

You will join a team of experienced specialists dedicated to delivering secure, stable, and high-quality digital identity solutions. Reliability and IT security are at the core of everything we build - from applied cryptography to user-facing authentication flows. The team operates in a collaborative Scrum setup, working closely with architects, developers, business analysts, testers, a Product Owner, and other key stakeholders. Together, we design and deliver enhancements and updates to the MitID platform., As a Backend Java Developer, you will be part of a highly professional environment focused on building secure, reliable, and scalable backend services for national digital identity infrastructure. Your work will revolve around Java-based backend development, applied cryptography, high availability, and continuous improvement of mission-critical systems.

You will design, develop, and maintain backend components, ensure code quality, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the evolution of our platform. You will also collaborate closely with other team members to ensure seamless integration, stable deployments, and high-quality delivery across environments., * Backend software development - designing and implementing high-quality backend components in Java.

  • Writing clean and maintainable code based on technical and functional specifications.
  • Technical documentation - preparing and maintaining documentation for knowledge sharing and reporting.
  • Defect analysis - identifying, analyzing, and resolving software issues.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancing existing backend services.
  • Verifying and deploying programs and systems across relevant environments.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the development team.
  • Collaborating with architects, testers, and other developers to ensure secure and stable delivery., * Annual development budget (2000 PLN) - use it for conferences, books, or training that actually supports your work

Requirements

  • Experience in developing enterprise IT systems and complex backend solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and containerized environments such as OpenShift.
  • Understanding of cryptographic concepts and experience with security-related systems.
  • Experience with relational databases (preferably Oracle).
  • Practical experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as JUnit.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend architectural principles.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and related toolchains.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with frontend development (especially Angular).
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Motivation and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
