Job description

Airbus is looking for an AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer (d/f/m) to join our Software Engineering department within Airbus Information Management, based in Hamburg, Germany. You will be part of a team that develops and operates enterprise API & Integration Platforms supporting over 300 APIs and data exchange flows. In this role, you will be involved in the design, operation, and continuous improvement of AWS Cloud and Kubernetes infrastructures aimed at ensuring platform availability, security, and performance while accelerating data continuity and aircraft delivery., You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve Kubernetes infrastructures based on AWS EKS for API and Event Driven Management platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain a Disaster Recovery plan and provide team support, including an on-call 24/7 rotation.
  • Ensure a high level of availability, performance, and security for Cloud platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve DevOps pipelines.
  • Implement a continuous improvement approach to optimize resource consumption and Cloud costs.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Several years of proven professional experience as a DevOps Engineer working within Agile/DevOps environments.
  • Deep technical expertise in AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Strong mastery of Cloud and monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • Demonstrated ability to design simple, reliable, performant, and secure Cloud architectures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams (API, Event Driven, Infrastructure).
