Job description
We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer (Java / Spring Boot) to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend systems in a modern microservices environment., Work together in a cross-functional team using agile methodologies as part of a DevOps-centric model.
- Design, implement, deploy, release, and monitor applications, participating in pull request reviews
- Understand business needs by collaborating with stakeholders across different divisions.
- Participate in planning and feature refinement sessions with your team.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to design solutions aligned with overall architecture standards.
- Actively contribute to engineering communities, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and event-driven architectures using Kafka, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, resilient, and scalable solutions.
Location: Hybrid - Madrid Working model: 3 days at client´s office, Sol area, next to the underground. Language: Advanced English (B2+ / C1 required), Minimum 4+ years of backend development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Solid background in event-driven architecture using Kafka (with Avro)
- Experience working with microservices architectures
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker deployments
- Proven experience applying TDD / BDD methodologies
- Experience in DevOps environments, including production support and incident management (log debugging, monitoring, etc.)
- Experience supporting and maintaining legacy applications
Nice to have
- Experience with Helm
- Knowledge of OpenAPI specifications
- Experience with SQL (Oracle)
