Job description
As a Data-Driven Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in enhancing ABN AMRO's cyber resilience. Your key responsibilities include:
- Innovating Threat Models: Design and refine advanced quantitative threat-modelling algorithms for the Cyber Resilience Index (CRI) to identify and address vulnerabilities.
- Building Smarter Metrics: Develop and enhance the Security Metrics Framework (SMF) by integrating new data sources and improving data quality.
- Delivering Actionable Insights: Generate statistical estimates for challenging security metrics, transforming them into clear, data-driven decision-making tools.
- Driving High-Impact Initiatives: Analyse CRI and SMF outputs continuously to recommend and monitor high-ROI security strategies.
- Empowering Stakeholders: Lead engaging demos and hands-on workshops, educating teams on the value of evidence-based security solutions.
- Collaborating for Success: Work closely with the data engineering team to implement your models into production pipelines and ensure quality through code and data model reviews.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on data science.
- Certifications: While not mandatory, certifications such as CISSP, GIAC/SANS (e.g., GDSA, GICSP), or similar are highly valued.
- Cyber-threat & risk modelling: Deep familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, CAPEC, CVE/CVSS, NIST, CIS Benchmarks and Microsoft Security Benchmark.
- Security: Knows how modern EDR/XDR suites work, can evaluate efficacy of controls and telemetry coverage. Microsoft Defender stack, Azure services, network-security fundamentals.
Nice-to-Haves - additional skills that make you stand out
- Hands-on experience with PowerBI, Databricks, and Detection Engineering tools.
- Quantitative analysis & statistics: Comfortable with statistical methods, confidence intervals and Monte-Carlo & Bayesian approaches.
- Data tooling: Python (data/ML stack), SQL and KQL. Able to wrangle large and dynamic data sets.
- Conceptual languages: ArchiMate.
