Job description
- Act as a key advocate for Kubernetes architecture standards defined by the central platform team.
- Drive the implementation of Kubernetes best practices across multiple enterprise clusters.
- Collaborate closely with system architects and domain architects within different business streams.
- Challenge and refine existing architecture decisions to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide guidelines.
- Optimize Kubernetes environments across both on-premise infrastructure and Azure public cloud.
- Provide architectural leadership across distributed cluster environments (blocks and grids).
- Ensure consistency, scalability, and security of Kubernetes deployments across the organization.
- Facilitate alignment between platform engineering teams and domain-specific architecture teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of overall IT experience, with strong exposure to cloud and container ecosystems.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, design, and implementation at an enterprise level.
- Hands-on experience working with both on-premise infrastructure and Azure cloud environments.
- Proven experience in working with large-scale, distributed cluster architectures.
- Strong understanding of containerization, orchestration, and microservices architecture.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including platform, DevOps, and architecture teams.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive architectural decisions in complex environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
You should possess the ability to:
- Influence and challenge senior architects and stakeholders in a constructive and strategic manner.
- Translate high-level platform guidelines into practical, scalable Kubernetes solutions.
- Navigate complex enterprise environments with multiple clusters and architectural domains.
- Identify architectural gaps and drive continuous improvement in Kubernetes ecosystems.
- Balance standardization with flexibility across different business units and technical domains.
- Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive alignment and consensus in environments with competing priorities.
- Think strategically while also understanding hands-on implementation challenges.
