As a Junior Data Scientist at Rabobank, you monitor and analyse credit risk model performance, assess data quality, and deliver capital/business impact analyses, translating complex datasets into clear insights for decision-making with stakeholders. You will become part of a team that combines model monitoring, customer excellence and business impact analysis. You will help monitor the core models used within the credit risk domain (including IRB, IFRS9, EW models), perform analyses, improve data quality and support decision-making across the organisation. At the same time, you will build relationships with internal stakeholders and learn how technical insights translate into business value.
You will work alongside experienced colleagues with both technical and business backgrounds, giving you the opportunity to learn from multiple perspectives and develop your own expertise.

As part of this role, you will join a team that focuses on customer excellence, model monitoring and business impact analysis. Alongside your work, you will participate in the Rabobank Data Analytics Early Career Program and develop both technical and personal skills.

Requirements
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) or R; strong SQL fundamentals.
- Understanding of statistics (hypothesis testing, regression, classification, evaluation metrics).
- Data visualization skills (e.g., Matplotlib/Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI) and clear storytelling.
- Version control with Git; familiarity with notebooks and reproducible research practices.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork; ability to learn quickly.
Nice to have
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), data pipelines, or MLOps basics.
- Experience with big data tools (Spark) and APIs., * A Masters' degree and hands on experience with coding, such as Python, SQL or similar programming languages.
- Experience working with data analysis tools or platforms such as Databricks.
- Affinity with analytics, statistical testing and model monitoring.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain findings clearly.

- Salary: Gross monthly salary between EUR 3,516 and EUR 5,021 (scale 07) for a 36-hour work week.
