Systems Architect

• We design cloud and infrastructure services and processes for our Cloud and Infrastructure Platform globally.
• We translate business requirements into technical and process designs and guide engineering teams through delivery.
• We ensure our Cloud and Infrastructure Platform meets current and future business needs, remains secure, operates excellently, and is cost efficient.
• We define, design, and deliver network and infrastructure architecture for cloud, WAN, LAN, and end user compute requirements.
• We work with global IT leadership to translate business goals into technology and process designs that support the Cloud and Infrastructure Platform roadmap.
• We work with project delivery leadership to support business projects that require Cloud and Infrastructure Platform services.
• We are accountable for our network architecture and engineering, including functional and non-functional requirements, operational constraints, and project cost constraints.
• We ensure our future network architecture meets business needs and own network designs for projects, growth, and changing requirements.
• We deliver architecture, designs, and engineering for multiple complex projects and the core Cloud Platform roadmap, often concurrently.
• We manage workload across multiple complex projects and roadmap activities to meet business expectations and timelines.
• We support the Cloud Platform Architect in maintaining and delivering the multi-year Cloud and Infrastructure Platform roadmap.
• We lead architecture and engineering resources to deliver designs and change while ensuring governance, best practice, risk management, guardrails, and compliance.
• We deliver designs using blueprints, technical specifications, and standards.
• We support the development of business cases for new initiatives requiring Cloud and Infrastructure Platform services and processes.
• We engage and contract with external suppliers with commercial acumen.
• We ensure the delivery of critical services consumed by other technology platforms, business projects, and customer projects.
• We provide timeline, skills, and effort estimates to projects for solution design and delivery.
• We forecast capacity requirements and ensure they are ready when required.
• We forecast future demand for services and processes to ensure innovative solutions are available when needed.

• We require relevant technical architecture qualifications and certifications for at least one major cloud provider, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• We need deep expertise in at least one cloud provider, preferably Microsoft Azure, and associated network services.
• We require experience in technology architecture, engineering, and networking using a range of technology tools.
• We need a strong understanding of cloud computing, network design and protocols, storage, infrastructure as code, containerization, and information security.
• We require the ability to solve complex business and technology problems within demanding timescales.
• We need the ability to understand business goals and strategy and translate them into technology designs.
• We require the ability to innovate and drive adoption of new technologies to keep our Cloud and Infrastructure Platform ready for new business demands.
• We need a strong understanding of architectural governance frameworks, best practices, compliance, and risk management.
• We require experience operating architectural governance processes, including design authorities and design review.
• We need a good understanding of the project delivery lifecycle, delivery methodologies, and finance.
• We require a good understanding of the operational lifecycle, from go-live to decommissioning.
• We need the ability to select and work with vendors to deliver business outcomes on time, on budget, and within scope.
• We require the ability to influence stakeholders, including IT leadership and peers across our global IT organization.
• We need excellent communication and presentation skills.
