Systems Developer

• Develop software for IoT edge devices using .NET and Node-RED
• Design and develop database architectures and data models

Our work spans technical grid consulting and smart grid control systems, with a strong focus on PLC-based control, SCADA, metering, protection and real-time data platforms for grid-scale and distributed energy projects. As a Systems Developer, you will work closely with our CTO and engineering teams to build and enhance the software and data systems behind our smart grid solutions, gaining exposure to cloud, IoT and systems engineering beyond a typical software role. We offer a salary of £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, a company bonus scheme, enhanced pension contribution, death in service benefit, salary sacrifice schemes, 25 days annual leave plus local bank holidays, volunteer days, support for local clubs or charities, paid professional registration fees and on-site parking. • Minimum 5 years experience in software development
• Strong experience with the Microsoft stack, including .NET, C# and SQL Server
• Strong experience working with JSON
• Experience working with APIs and system integration
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure
• Strong problem-solving ability and a practical mindset
• Experience with IoT technologies such as MQTT and Modbus is desirable
• Familiarity with Node-RED or similar tools is desirable
• Experience with Grafana or data visualisation platforms is desirable
• Understanding of networking concepts such as VPNs, routing and gateways is desirable
• Must have the right to work in the UK
