Job description
- Lead a team of five engineers building customer-facing web applications.
- Co-own the DevEx vision and strategy with the DevEx PM.
- Own the technical architecture and design decisions for our dashboard, docs platform, marketing website, and billing UI.
- Drive a product-first engineering culture focused on customer outcomes and product ownership.
- Work full-stack to iterate, improve, and ship enhancements quickly in a high-velocity environment.
- Champion AI-assisted development across the team and use LLMs and AI tools to accelerate delivery.
- Set and enforce high standards for code review, testing, and production readiness.
- Participate in incident response and coordinate with the Infrastructure team on platform dependencies and deployments.
- Mentor, manage performance, support career development, and help with hiring.
- Hold the team accountable for delivery commitments while developing product-minded leaders.

Requirements
- Extensive experience leading technical teams in B2B SaaS or API-first products, with a track record of building product-minded engineering teams that take ownership of outcomes.
- Strong software engineering background with expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript, plus backend experience in Ruby on Rails or Node.js.
- Proven experience building and shipping customer-facing web applications at scale.
- Ability to write code and build prototypes that use our APIs.
- Strong empathy for developer customers and a deep understanding of API design, documentation, and developer experience.
- Experience using LLMs and AI tools to improve team productivity and output.
- Experience in a startup or growth-stage company, or the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bonus: Experience delivering developer tools, APIs, or solutions for technical personas such as DevOps or cloud infrastructure.
- Bonus: Understanding of pub/sub and familiarity with distributed systems and event-based architectures.
