This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and systems. The ideal applicant will possess extensive knowledge of computer networking, information security standards, and cloud computing environments, contributing to the development of secure network architectures aligned with industry best practices such as NIST standards and ISO 27002., * Design and implement secure network architectures incorporating routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS to optimise performance and security.

  • Manage and support WAN, LAN, SAN, VPNs, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Configure and maintain firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, SIEM solutions (Splunk, SolarWinds), and network monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds) to detect and respond to security threats effectively.
  • Enforce security policies in accordance with NIST standards, ISO 27002 guidelines, and ITIL frameworks; oversee incident response procedures and incident management processes.
  • Administer authentication systems including LDAP, Active Directory, SSO solutions, and PKI implementations for secure access control.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Fiddler or Wireshark; perform regular penetration testing to identify potential security gaps.
  • Develop scripts using Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell or Python for automation of system administration tasks related to network security.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects on cloud architecture design involving IaaS/PaaS models; manage cloud security configurations in AWS or Google Cloud environments.
  • Support network installation projects involving Cisco routers/switches, Juniper devices, VMware vSphere virtualisation platforms, and open-source operating systems like Debian or CentOS.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations; participate in SDLC processes for secure software deployment; ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards such as CISCO ISE or SSL protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in computer networking with a strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, DHCP, DNS, IPsec VPNs, QoS policies and Ethernet switching.
  • Extensive knowledge of network security principles including firewall management (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, encryption techniques (SSL/TLS), high availability configurations and load balancing solutions.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS), Solaris or macOS; experience with system administration tasks is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS or Google Cloud Platform; familiarity with cloud architecture design principles is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash or Python for automation purposes; experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible or Terraform is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks including NIST standards and ISO 27002; experience implementing SIEM solutions like Splunk or SolarWinds is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security or Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate are highly regarded.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment; strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration across teams.

This role offers an engaging environment where your expertise will directly contribute to safeguarding organisational assets while supporting innovative technological advancements within a professional setting committed to continuous improvement.
