Job description

Robert Half Technology are assisting a Government Services organisation to recruit an IT Project Coordinator on a contract basis. UK remote. ASAP start, 6 months minimum (opportunity for permanent in the future)., * The IT Project Coordinator will coordinate and support the delivery of IT initiatives across Search and Rescue (SAR) and Government Services operations.

  • Act as a key link between IT and operational stakeholders, ensuring projects, system enhancements, and service improvements are effectively planned, communicated, and delivered.
  • Coordinate with regional and global stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party providers to support delivery of IT projects, enhancements, and service improvements in line with operational priorities.
  • Support project planning and execution activities, including tracking milestones, managing dependencies, and maintaining project documentation and reporting.
  • Provide technical support for SAR IT systems where required, including assisting with deployment, troubleshooting, and issue resolution to maintain service continuity.
  • Support Change Management activities by coordinating impact assessments, scheduling changes, tracking implementation progress, and ensuring effective stakeholder communication.
  • Assist in developing project documentation, including business requirements, Statements of Work (SoWs), project plans, and service transition materials.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, project progress, and service metrics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate onboarding and access provisioning activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and operational readiness.
  • Support delivery and coordination of training, user engagement, and service adoption activities for new systems and enhancements.
  • Maintain and update documentation, knowledge base articles, and process guides to support standardised delivery and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate in major incident and service restoration activities, ensuring communication and coordination across stakeholders during critical events.
  • Support resource planning and coordination across initiatives to ensure effective utilisation and delivery capability.

Requirements

  • The IT Project Coordinator will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with 3+ years' experience in a similar IT support or service delivery role.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting, administering, and resolving issues within flight operations, emergency services, or other safety-critical operational environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern IT technologies, including SaaS platforms, cloud computing, and enterprise environments; experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of ITIL-aligned service management practices, including Incident Management, Service Request Management, and Change Enablement; experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow beneficial.
  • Proven ability to translate business and operational requirements into clear technical and service requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with IT teams, business stakeholders, end users, management, and external parties including OEMs and third-party service providers.
  • Sound understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, with awareness of relevant regulatory, data protection, and compliance requirements.
