Job description

  • Design and implement software solutions for underwater robotics applications
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically complex software projects for subsea vehicles
  • Bind inputs from different software and engineering disciplines to successfully deliver software content
  • Ensure delivery of projects meets the companys business needs
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers
  • Develop and instigate processes to achieve industry best practices
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Manage resources and budgets effectively
  • Estimate work content and plan workloads
  • Interface directly with customers and act as a technical authority

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years experience as a Senior Engineer
  • A Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline
  • Broad understanding of software from embedded to applications
  • Experience leading multi-disciplined teams of software engineers
  • Ability to develop a software architecture for complex systems from scratch
  • Sound understanding of modern software methods and technologies
  • Capability to maintain a system-level approach without getting lost in detail
  • Skilled at developing system-level requirements and deriving lower-level requirements
  • Sound understanding of safety concepts and design
  • Ability to interface directly with customers
  • Skill in acting as a technical authority
  • Proficient in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to estimate work content and duration
  • Capability to plan work loading for teams to prevent overload
  • Skilled at developing and instigating processes for industry best practices
  • Ability to ensure software quality levels are maintained for projects
  • Experienced in mentoring and developing junior engineers
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively
  • Experience managing resources and budgets
  • Practical understanding of standards and their application
  • Appreciation of Cyber Security and its impacts on design
  • Demonstrated software skills in technologies such as C++, JavaScript, Python, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, and others
  • Experience with web backend servers, Docker, SQL, and development tools
