Job description

  • As a Senior Cloud Engineer, I will lead the design and development of modern digital service platforms, including automation, deployment, and operational support. I will work alongside talented colleagues in engineering, testing, consulting, product management, and security to build scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. Additionally, I will contribute to technical decisions, mentor junior Cloud Engineers, and help foster an inclusive, collaborative culture. My role will involve designing and delivering cloud-native platform engineering solutions that impact millions, working on bespoke digital transformation programmes, and addressing the UK's most mission-critical defence projects.

Requirements

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in configuration management, infrastructure provisioning, and automation tools (such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, or Groovy).
  • Strong knowledge of modern Continuous Delivery processes.
  • Hands-on experience applying best practices and architectural patterns across infrastructure and application components.
  • Expertise with Cloud Platforms (AWS or Azure).
  • A track record of debugging complex, distributed problems across multiple servers, services, and tools.
  • Experience using modern version control systems, including Git, in collaborative engineering environments.
  • Proficiency with Containerization Tools and Kubernetes.
