Job description
- We will support approximately 850 pupils and over 100 staff across two independent schools.
- We will provide 2nd line IT support across a mixed environment of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Windows, MacBooks and iPads.
- We will administer Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Entra ID and MDM platforms.
- We will support Windows PCs, laptops, desktops, iPads and tablets.
- We will install, configure and deploy hardware and software.
- We will handle basic networking support and escalate more complex networking issues to the external MSP.
- We will support wireless access points and assist with related infrastructure where needed.
- We may also support audio/visual equipment, security tools and telephony systems as required.

Requirements
- We are looking for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer / System Administrator with experience supporting end user devices and administering Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Experience with MDM solutions, including Intune and iPad/macOS device management, is required.
- Experience with Entra ID and Windows 11/10 administration and support is required.
- Strong hardware and software support experience, including installation, configuration and deployment, is required.
- Basic networking knowledge is required, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, SSL and IPSec.
- Exposure to Cisco or Ubiquiti wireless infrastructure is advantageous.
- Experience in the education sector is advantageous.
- Experience with audio/visual devices, firewall, antivirus, web filters, security policies and VoIP/telephony support is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach are required.
- You must be eligible to work in the UK.
Benefits & conditions
We are offering a permanent IT Support Engineer - 2nd Line role with a salary of £40k plus a benefits package. The role is onsite Monday to Friday during term time and is shared between two well-established independent schools, with three days in Blackheath, London and two days in Hampstead, London; travel expenses to Hampstead are covered. During school holidays, there is flexibility to work from home or reduced hours where appropriate. We offer annual salary reviews, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, flexibility during school closures, pension, free lunches, and training and career progression opportunities. Working hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm during term time and 9:00am to 4:30pm during school holidays.
