Job description

  • Lead an empowered, multidisciplinary team tackling complex challenges
  • Work with quantitative analysts and trading/risk stakeholders to implement and run market making strategies
  • Propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and learn from and educate others
  • Help make technical decisions that impact the broader organisation
  • Communicate empathetically and contribute through outreach, documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Assist in creating models and strategies and help productionalize the software with other engineers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and peers on project ideas
  • Own parts of product and technology and become a subject matter expert
  • Write simple, extendable code following standards and best practices
  • Test code thoroughly
  • Balance customer requirements with team requirements
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, team planning, and ticket/metric/COE reviews
  • Classify, store, and handle data in accordance with company policies
  • Track security risks and mitigate or escalate them in a timely manner
  • Focus on operational excellence by identifying problems and proposing solutions
  • Take on projects and deliver software enhancements that improve software and processes
  • Resolve root causes of complex problems and improve maintainability
  • Train new team members on software construction, operation, security, and overall context
  • Extend influence beyond the team and contribute at the org level
  • Foster constructive dialogue and professional resolution of issues
  • Help recruit and interview for the team
  • Estimate stories and tasks accurately and deliver on time

  • Build and evolve components that support real-time quoting and decisioning with attention to latency, throughput, and correctness
  • Implement and maintain risk controls and guardrails such as exposure checks, limits, throttling/filters, and kill switch patterns
  • Ensure high-quality decision logging so strategies can be debugged, replayed, and improved
  • Partner with quants and stakeholders to define and monitor key metrics such as quote ratio, win rate, expected vs realized margin, and exposure/capital utilization

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, or 5+ years of relevant work experience with an MS in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Experience in at least one frontend specialization: native apps (Kotlin, Swift), web apps using React (JavaScript or TypeScript), or hybrid apps using React Native
  • Experience building or contributing to an advanced shared library, design system, or SDK
  • Understanding of modern architectures, design patterns, and platform nuances
  • Knowledge of web libraries and frameworks such as TypeScript, React, Angular, and/or Bootstrap
  • Familiarity with full stacks, single-page applications, and/or micro frontends
  • Expert experience with testing concepts, test tools, and integrating testing best practices in the SDLC
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Familiarity working in an Agile environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • Passion for learning and continuous improvement
