Job description

  • We design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems to power our e-commerce experience.
  • We build and maintain APIs that support our frontend, mobile, and third-party integrations.
  • We architect systems for membership access, catalog management, checkout, order fulfillment, and payments.
  • We collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data teams to deliver features that improve the user experience.
  • We own backend services end to end, from design to deployment and monitoring.
  • We contribute to best practices in code quality, testing, reliability, and observability.
  • We help define our backend architecture and make strategic technical decisions as we scale.
  • We mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

  • We understand the technical challenges of concurrency, inventory management and reservation, currency and price management, and third-party API integrations.
  • We have strong experience with microservices software design and software DSLs across multiple models, concerns, and integrations.
  • We have experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including data modeling and performance optimization.
  • We are familiar with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • We have experience developing and deploying GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
  • We have experience building multi-tenant systems, including access control, reporting, and authentication/authorization concerns.
  • We have a strong understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithmic principles.
  • We are comfortable working in high-growth, early-stage environments and have a bias toward action.
  • We are collaborative communicators who are excited to help shape a luxury tech brand.
  • Bonus: prior experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, or membership-based platforms.
  • Bonus: familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka or SQS.
  • Bonus: experience working closely with design or product teams in consumer-facing companies.
  • Bonus: passion for fashion, luxury, or retail innovation.
