IT Engineer

• We will rely on you to deliver high-quality IT and network support across the organisation.
• You will take ownership of network infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
• You will manage and support switches, firewalls, wireless networks, routers, and associated hardware.
• You will support core networking services such as VLANs, VPNs, routing, and network security protocols.
• You will provide support across key systems, including Active Directory, Windows and Ubuntu servers, SQL databases, virtual machines, backups, documentation tools, and Synology DSM.
• You will work with Microsoft 365 and help maintain a strong Windows environment.
• You will assist with software deployment, patching, and integration within our networked environment.
• You will help maintain and improve the configuration, performance, and usability of interconnected systems and hardware.
• You will monitor network security, identify vulnerabilities, and help prevent potential threats.

• Office 365, We are supporting a client based in Wrexham who is looking for an IT Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing their IT environment. This is a 5 days a week on-site role offering a salary of £35,000 plus bonus. The position sits at the heart of network performance, availability, and security, while also supporting wider IT systems and digital transformation initiatives. You will work closely with internal teams to deliver robust, scalable network solutions that underpin bespoke software platforms and business operations. • We are looking for an IT Engineer with strong hands-on experience in network infrastructure and connectivity.
• We need someone with experience supporting switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless networks.
• We require knowledge of core networking technologies, including VLANs, VPNs, routing, and network security protocols.
• We value experience supporting Active Directory, Windows and Ubuntu server environments, SQL Server and MySQL, VMware/vSphere, Veeam backups, Confluence documentation, and Synology DSM.
• We need strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with Cisco networking equipment and server/firewall maintenance will be beneficial.
• We are looking for someone with a strong interest in IT security and the prevention of threats and attack vectors.
• We need clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IT issues in simple terms.
• Relevant technical support or IT infrastructure experience is required.
