The Role

You'll work closely with technical teams, stakeholders and customers to ensure networks and systems remain secure, compliant and resilient.

  • Investigating and responding to security incidents, alerts and vulnerabilities
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments and recommending security improvements
  • Designing, building and supporting security solutions including SIEM and IDS/IPS technologies
  • Providing cybersecurity expertise to internal engineering and IT teams
  • Producing and maintaining security documentation, procedures and technical standards
  • Supporting incident management processes and acting as an escalation point for complex security issues
  • Delivering guidance, training and awareness activities across the wider business

Requirements

We're interested in hearing from candidates with:

  • At least 5 years' experience designing, implementing and managing secure network environments
  • Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies, including firewalls, routers and switches
  • Experience working with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS solutions and vulnerability management tools
  • Penetration testing and security assessment experience
  • Knowledge of ISO27001, GDPR and security compliance frameworks
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching and firewall technologies
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

  • Experience with Juniper technologies
  • Linux administration experience (CentOS, Ubuntu, Apache, MySQL)
  • Telecommunications, satellite communications or maritime communications experience
  • Experience supporting Government, Defence or MOD environments
  • VMware and Windows Server knowledge
  • Scripting or automation skills, including Bash or Perl
  • Project delivery and implementation experience
