Remote Principal Software Engineer

• Own end-to-end technical leadership of our high-revenue web platform and mobile app
• Define architecture and long-term technical strategy
• Lead the server-side rendering pipeline using Node.js, Fastify 5, and React 19
• Own the data layer across MySQL and BigQuery
• Manage our GCP infrastructure, including Cloud Run, Cloud Build, and Global Load Balancer
• Oversee ad-tech integrations, including Google Ad Manager, GTM, GTag, and GPT.js
• Optimize performance at scale, where every millisecond counts
• Maintain and optimize our machine learning pipeline for ad-tech performance
• Work directly with stakeholders to set technical direction, remove bottlenecks, and ship production-grade code

• Strong production-proven experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with React in a server-side rendering context
• Experience with MySQL, including database design, query optimization, and ORM usage
• Experience with BigQuery for querying and managing large-scale datasets
• Hands-on experience with GCP, including Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Cloud SQL, and load balancing
• GCP certification is a significant bonus
• Experience in ad-tech, including ad serving, yield optimization, and programmatic advertising, is a plus
• Affiliate marketing experience, particularly with Anura and Everflow, is a plus
• Experience with Cloudflare, including CDN configuration, caching strategies, and Workers, is a plus
• Experience with Fastify 5 is a plus
• Flutter experience for mobile app contribution is a plus
• Experience with Golang or Rust for high-performance service work is a plus
• Experience applying machine learning to ad-tech optimization is a plus
• Experience in DeFi, crypto, NFT, blockchain, fintech, or healthcare is a plus

We are pubGENIUS, a React.js and Next.js development agency and ad-tech startup building websites and apps for clients across the US and Europe, with a focus on DeFi, crypto, NFT, blockchain, fintech, and healthcare, plus occasional work in e-commerce and other verticals. We also operate our own high-revenue web product with a website, mobile app, and machine learning systems powering our ad-tech optimization engine, where performance is a core requirement. This is a full-time independent contractor engagement with a fully remote setup available in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, or the Netherlands.
