The California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Information Systems Division (ISD) has an exciting opportunity for an Information Technology Technician (ITT). Under the general direction of IT Supervisor II, the Software Manual Tester will be responsible for for performing manual testing activities for software systems. The following are the essential duties and/or responsibilities of the ITT position:
- Perform manual software testing activities in an Agile environment, including System, Functional, Integration, End-to-End, Usability, and Accessibility testing.
- Plan testing activities, design test cases, and execute tests while following established testing standards and best practices.
- Conduct system validation and data verification to ensure application accuracy and reliability.

Requirements
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience in Software application testing,including system, functional and regression.
- Experience creating and executing test cases, logging and tracking defects in Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
- Knowledge or experience in the software testing life cycle.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a Agile environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow platform functionalities (nice to have).

Paid holidays, This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance of the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmers' markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80. This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. For positions advertised in more than one location, headquarter location may be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location in accordance with operational need and available space.
