Job description
The MBSE Systems Engineer will support the design, development, and integration of enterprise-level architectures within a digital engineering environment. This role focuses on applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to develop scalable, interoperable solutions across complex DoD systems. Candidates will work within a mature digital engineering ecosystem, leveraging SysML, DoDAF/UAF frameworks, and modern architecture practices to support mission-critical operations. Opportunities are open across multiple levels (Junior through SME), with strong growth and training support in MBSE and digital engineering., * Develop and maintain system, operational, and enterprise architectures using MBSE methodologies
- Build and manage SysML/UML models capturing requirements, workflows, interfaces, and mission threads
- Translate operational and business requirements into scalable solution architectures
- Define integration patterns, data exchanges, and interoperability requirements across systems
- Support digital engineering strategy, including digital thread and model-based decision support
- Establish and maintain architecture governance, modeling standards, and technical baselines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, cybersecurity, test, and program management
- Support technology roadmaps, transition planning, and system modernization efforts
- Present architecture designs and technical findings to stakeholders and leadership

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Experience (varies by level):

Junior: 0-3 years (foundational systems engineering knowledge)

Intermediate: 3-8 years (hands-on MBSE / integration experience)

Senior: 8-11 years (architecture ownership, system design experience)

SME: 12+ years (enterprise architecture leadership, strategy, and large-scale program support) Core Skills:

Experience with systems engineering and system architecture design

Knowledge of MBSE methodologies and SysML/UML modeling

Familiarity with DoDAF or UAF frameworks

Experience with system integration and interoperability in complex environments

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx EA, Rhapsody, or similar tools
- Experience supporting DoD programs or large enterprise systems
- Familiarity with:
- Digital thread / digital twin concepts
- Cloud, DevSecOps, or Zero Trust environments
- COTS/ERP integration
- Experience generating model-based documentation and artifacts
- Certifications (OCSMP, INCOSE, TOGAF, etc.)
