Job description

The Data Strategy and Management Team within our IT department is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst with a strong focus on data architecture and security. This cross-functional role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with business partners and systems teams to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of our enterprise data.

Responsibilities

  • Support design for target state data architecture to manage data effectively across the enterprise with an initial focus on customer data.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a data architecture governance model to ensure data is managed appropriately across the enterprise.

  • Assist in the analysis and development of a consistent data retention policy to reduce data exposure risk.

  • Evaluate Tools and Processes: Assess and recommend security and governance tools to achieve target state for customer data management.

  • Collaborate with Business, Information Security, and IT Stakeholders: Work with business stakeholders, product owner(s), the Information Security team, Legal, and agile development teams to understand existing data architectures, target state requirements, and impacts of proposed data architecture changes.

Requirements

  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Communicates and presents complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency with data models, data analysis and data architecture principles.

  • Experience with data governance frameworks

  • Initiative-taking and curious nature, an independent self-starter.

  • Adept at cross-functional impact analysis, proactively collaborating across team boundaries to arrive at comprehensive and cohesive solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze downstream impact of changes in complex systems.

  • Proven ability to elicit and document business requirements within an Agile framework, translating them into practical and clear user stories.

  • Proficiency in SQL skills

Pluses:

  • Experience with data governance frameworks, RBAC, and IAM solutions.

  • Familiar with system and data security concepts, certifications, data standards, and best practices in data systems context, CMMC, and data retention policies.

  • Experience with custom-built web applications, AWS, as well as platforms such as Salesforce and/or Snowflake.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Power BI/ Tableau for data analysis and reporting.
