We are currently seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support our Aiken, SC location.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in an IT related discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Technology. Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security); or Non-related Bachelor degree with 2 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or
- Associate Degree in IT related discipline (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Technology, Software Engineering, Non-related Associate Degree with 4 years proven performance in related assignment(s).
- In lieu of degree, a high school diploma with at least 6 years of equivalent knowledge and experience is acceptable. Knowledge of computer and network digital systems used in business or process applications. Detailed knowledge in specific operating systems is desirable., * Familiarity with cloud security concepts or compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, RMF, or NIST SP 800-series.
- Knowledge of basic cybersecurity protections, principles, or frameworks (e.g., NIST).
- Knowledge of basic computer and networking concepts, principles, and practices.
- Strong written communication and composition abilities.
- Must be able to participate in group problem solving including communicating effectively with both technical and nontechnical personnel, respect the ideas of others and accept the judgment of the group.
- Must have a sense of when to ask for help and be comfortable in accepting guidance from other more senior technical personnel.
- Must be familiar with available resource materials and be able to conduct timely research.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn complex cybersecurity requirements and regulatory environments.
- Ability to work on-site with limited teleworking options.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
Desired Skills:
- An active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years
- US Citizenship
- Exposure to working in an enterprise IT environment.
- Experience working on collaborative technical or research projects.
- A proactive desire to stay current with evolving cloud technologies and cybersecurity trends.
- Ability to think critically and provide actionable guidance to technical or compliance-based challenges.
- Educational or work-related experience with Microsoft cloud services (Azure, M365, etc.) or other major SaaS platforms.
- Experience with forensic tools such as Cellebrite, Magnet Forensics Axiom or OpenText
- Relevant certifications such as CompTia Security, GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst
- Experience with security information and event management tools
- Ability to assist senior analyst in conducting forensic examinations of digital devices, including computers, mobile phones and storage media
- Perform documentation of examination processes and findings, ensuring adherence to chain of custody protocols
- Experience preparing detailed reports summarizing forensic analysis results for legal and other stakeholders
- Experience preparing and updating policies and procedures
- Effective collaboration skills with Information Technology (IT) subject matter experts and cyber security response teams
- Effective collaboration skills with team members on investigations, contributing to the identification of findings
- Current with developments in digital forensics, cyber security, forensic law, mobile devices and encryption/decryption methods
