We are looking for a Canva Designer / Social Media Video Editor to help create clean social media graphics, simple video edits, presentations, and client content deliverables.
This role is not for cinematic video editing. We need someone who can design well in Canva and edit simple social media videos using tools like CapCut, Canva, Instagram, or similar platforms.
Role Overview
The Canva Designer / Social Media Video Editor will support the agency by creating social media designs, carousels, story graphics, thumbnails, simple reels, short-form video edits, and presentations.
This person should have a good eye for design, understand Instagram-style content, and be able to turn raw ideas, clips, and client information into clean, usable marketing assets.
The work needs to be clear, fast, organized, and professional.
Main Responsibilities Canva Design
- Create clean social media graphics in Canva.
- Design Instagram posts, Facebook posts, stories, carousels, thumbnails, and simple ad creatives.
- Create branded templates for clients.
- Follow each client's colors, fonts, logo, and visual style.
- Make designs easy to read and visually clean.
- Avoid generic Canva templates that look cheap or overused.
- Resize content for different platforms.
- Keep Canva files organized by client and project.
Simple Social Media Video Editing
- Edit simple short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
- Use simple editing platforms like CapCut, Canva, Instagram, or similar tools.
- Cut clips, remove dead space, add captions, text overlays, logos, music, and basic transitions.
- Format videos vertically for social media.
- Create reel covers and thumbnails.
- Make videos clear, clean, and easy to watch.
- Follow examples and creative direction from the team.
- Make revisions based on feedback.
Presentation Design
- Design clean presentations in Canva.
- Help create sales decks, client proposals, campaign presentations, and monthly reports.
- Turn rough notes into polished slides.
- Make slides professional, simple, and easy to understand.
- Use strong spacing, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
Content Organization
- Organize Canva files, video files, graphics, client folders, and final deliverables.
- Name files clearly.
- Track what content is being worked on, revised, approved, and delivered.
- Help prepare content for client review.
- Keep folders and assets easy for the team to find.
Creative Support
- Help create content ideas when needed.
- Pull design references and social media examples.
- Help prepare simple content calendars.
- Help package final content for clients.
- Support the agency with small creative tasks related to social media, ads, and client campaigns.
Requirements
- Strong Canva design skills.
- Good eye for social media design.
- Basic video editing skills using simple tools like CapCut, Canva, Instagram, or similar platforms.
- Ability to create clean graphics, carousels, stories, thumbnails, and presentations.
- Good sense of spacing, fonts, colors, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Organized with files and deadlines.
- Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions.
- Able to work quickly without making sloppy content.
- Basic understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Spanish and English preferred.

Must know or be comfortable using:
- Canva
- CapCut or similar simple video editing app
- Google Drive
Helpful but not required:
- Meta Business Suite
- Google Docs
- Google Sheets
- Slack
- ClickUp, Notion, Trello, or similar tools

- You want to do cinematic filmmaking instead of social media content.
- You care more about making things cute than making them clear.
Schedule
Part-time or full-time depending on availability and skill level.
Estimated starting range:
- Part-time: 15-25 hours per week
- Full-time: 35-40 hours per week
Compensation
This is a paid position.
