Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated System Administrator to join our cybersecurity firm. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting our clients by ensuring organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and security. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, a quick thinker, and a proactive team player ready to tackle challenges, sometimes on short notice., * Policy and Documentation:
- Policy: Adhere strictly to policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Documentation: Create, review, and update documentation for all relevant processes and systems.
- Client Support: Monitor and respond promptly to IT helpdesk requests during business and non-business hours using in-person, phone, or electronic methods.
- Research and Evaluation: Evaluate applications and services for institutional use, providing a detailed feature comparison matrix where applicable.
- Technical Support: Resolve 80% of first-level technical issues independently, perform basic software/hardware installations, and troubleshoot effectively.
- Security Compliance: Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to company security policies.
- Technology Assistance: Support technologies including SIEM alerts, desktop hardware/software, mobile devices, network connectivity, Microsoft 365 products, Windows operating systems, and other IT systems.
- Learning and Development: Stay updated on new technologies and applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including O365 migrations, Exchange Online, and Entra/MFA.
- Experience with Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy management.
- Familiarity with Intune for device and application management.
- Knowledge of CMMC and NIST 800-171 frameworks.
- Strong understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, virtual ports and services, physical cabling).
Certifications (Preferred):
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Security+
- RP (Registered Practitioner)
- CCP (Certified CMMC Professional)
- ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Qualifications:
- Must be a local resident and willing to drive to client locations when needed.
- Basic knowledge of IT security principles and certifications is preferred.
- For students: Must maintain good academic standing with a solid GPA.
- Ability to manage stress, adhere to deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
