Job description

ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced cybersecurity solutions that protect enterprise systems and networks from evolving cyber threats. This role is responsible for safeguarding corporate infrastructure against unauthorized access and data exfiltration while ensuring secure system design, integration, and deployment.

The Cyber Security Engineer designs, operates, and maintains highly secure communications and network environments, conducts in-depth security assessments, performs incident response and threat analysis, and supports threat intelligence activities. The position also develops cybersecurity architectures, integrates new security capabilities into existing environments, and provides technical recommendations to address current and future security requirements. Additional responsibilities include utilizing advanced forensic tools for attack reconstruction, resolving security integration and testing issues, and monitoring security events to identify and mitigate risks that could impact the organization's overall security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced cyber defense solutions to protect enterprise systems, networks, and critical infrastructure.
  • Safeguard corporate environments against cyber threats, unauthorized access, and data exfiltration.
  • Design, maintain, and operate highly secure and complex communications and network infrastructures.
  • Perform in-depth network security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and risk evaluations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, incidents, and emerging cyber threats.
  • Conduct preliminary incident response activities, event analysis, and threat intelligence investigations.
  • Design and integrate cybersecurity architectures and security enhancements into existing enterprise environments.
  • Develop cybersecurity architectural documentation, technical designs, and implementation strategies.
  • Analyze current security architectures and recommend improvements to support future technology and security requirements.
  • Utilize advanced digital forensic tools and techniques to investigate security incidents and reconstruct cyber attacks.
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve security controls, system resilience, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the integration, testing, validation, and deployment of cybersecurity solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve security integration, interoperability, and testing issues.
  • Review and assess security events to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure secure system design and implementation.
  • Ensure cybersecurity solutions comply with organizational policies, industry best practices, and applicable security standards.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance and Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 2 years of cybersecurity experience.
  • This is a hybrid position, with up to 3 days per week on-site.
