Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our team. The Test Engineer provides autonomous, high-level expert support for vehicle, engine, and component testing. Core responsibilities include learning and supporting CyFlex test automation systems, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, implementing solutions that facilitate testing, ensuring equipment reliability and data quality, training technicians, and driving continuous improvement in test procedures and processes., Test Cell Operations

  • Provide autonomous, high-level expert support across all test cells: diagnose complex issues in real time, develop solutions, and implement changes that facilitate successful and efficient testing with minimal supervision.
  • Rapidly learn, master, and provide ongoing expert support for CyFlex test automation systems, including configuration, programming, channel setup, sensor calibration, troubleshooting, and optimization across the test cell fleet.
  • Set up, configure, and validate test cell systems including instrumentation, data acquisition, logging, limit monitoring, automated sequences, and supporting equipment such as air handling, fuel systems, and engine cooling.
  • Continuously monitor test parameters, proactively identify and resolve equipment or test anomalies, and ensure the highest levels of data quality, integrity, and traceability.
  • Coordinate calibration, preventive maintenance, service, and repair of test equipment and maintain accurate records to ensure operational readiness and compliance.

Process Improvement

  • Train, mentor, and support technicians on test setup, execution, inspection techniques, data recording, CyFlex usage, and safety best practices; help organize daily test cell activities for optimal quality and throughput.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and develop or implement enhanced testing methods that improve quality, reliability, repeatability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Lead or participate in laboratory continuous improvement initiatives and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience in test engineering or technical operations within a laboratory or test cell environment, preferably in automotive or off-road component testing.
  • Demonstrated experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a test cell or similar setting.
  • Solid understanding of engine and component testing procedures, data acquisition principles, and automotive technologies.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting; competent in Microsoft Word and other Office applications.
  • Knowledge of CyFlex test automation systems is highly desirable. Ability to quickly learn and master new automation software is essential.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and other industrial control systems is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills for basic network setup and troubleshooting. Linux experience preferred, though not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a scientific, data-driven approach; ability to independently diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly explain technical concepts and results to engineers, managers, and technicians.
  • Proven ability to work with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice.
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules, including extended hours, evenings, or weekends, as required to complete time-sensitive tasks.
  • Physical capability to work in a laboratory/test cell environment, including standing for extended periods and following all PPE and safety protocols.
