Job description
We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Cloud Services Engineer to join our team at Pointivity located in Carmel Valley. We are a small entrepreneurial company, known as an innovator in the field of hybrid IT and cloud-based services. This role involves managing IT infrastructure for our clients, across varied environments, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and networking technologies. You'll work directly with clients, which includes end users to Executives, ensuring their systems are secure, optimized, and aligned with their business goals., * Support IT infrastructure for small, mid-sized and large multi-site clients across a variety of industries in cloud and on premises environments.
- Provide expert-level support for Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including setup, migration, administration, and security.
- Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Assist with new client discovery.
- Hold weekly calls with clients and manage outstanding projects.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for the Tier 1 support team.
- Plan and execute system and network upgrades, migrations, and maintenance with minimal disruption.
- Automate and streamline system administration tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
- Document client environments and maintain up-to-date technical records for compliance and operational continuity.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a systems engineering or infrastructure support role, ideally in an MSP or multi-client environment.
- Direct experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (including Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure Virtual Desktop).
- Strong networking knowledge and experience, with primarily SonicWall, Ubiquiti and Meraki.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Strong ability to interact directly with clients with professionalism and clarity.
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, M365)
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience working at a technology service provider.
- Experience with ticketing systems and PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise).
- Experience using RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools.
