Job description

Support System Build Infrastructure for software development, system integration, and software build activities across multiple programs. Develop and maintain automation utilities, CI/CD build pipelines, and configuration management solutions while assisting software development teams with software integration, debugging, and delivery. Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, evaluate technical impediments, and provide support to ensure successful software releases., * Support software development teams with software integration, debugging, and delivery activities

  • Develop automation utilities to improve software build and configuration processes
  • Design automation frameworks supporting system integration and software builds
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD build pipelines and resolve build-related issues
  • Maintain build automation infrastructure and supporting tools
  • Participate in daily scrums, sprint reviews, and technical demonstrations
  • Evaluate technical impediments affecting development activities
  • Provide technical support to development teams when issues arise

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience

  • 5+ years of experience programming in Python

  • 3+ years of experience using the Linux/Unix command line

  • 5+ years of experience with software configuration management tools, including Git, Artifactory, or Nexus

  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

  • Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, including running pipelines, creating basic jobs, and resolving common failures

  • Applied experience building and running Docker containers with basic knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and limited deployment experience

  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and the ability to develop class-based code with guidance

  • Capability to develop small to medium-sized software modules using reusable code patterns

  • Knowledge of software compilation processes and associated build stages

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills to debug and improve scripts with guidance

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment

  • Experience assisting with the conversion of legacy scripts, including Perl, into maintainable Python code
