Job description
- In partnership with the Director of Individual Giving and Chief Development Officer, the Development Manager creates and executes an individual monthly and mid-level giving program with an emphasis on increasing and retaining recurring donors and securing more support at the $1,000 - $4,999 levels.
- Actively manages a portfolio of current and potential donors ($1,000 - $4,999), monthly donors, and passive major gift donors.
- Manages relationships and solicits gifts from mid-level donors.
- Documents interactions in TFB's donor database. Works with our Donor Relations Manager to create monthly dashboard reports of mid-level and monthly giving.
- Through research and best practices, identifies, cultivates and solicits individuals for general operating support, rooted in The Food Bank's case for support.
- Monitors and analyzes portfolio performance in order to achieve annual goals.
- In conjunction with the entire Development team, the Manager prepares proposals, solicitation letters and stewardship reports.
- The Manager collaborates with the Communication and Development teams to thank and steward individual donors.
- Assists team with developing budgets, goals and performance measures for building the monthly and mid-level gifts programs and analyzing results.
- Participate in TFB events and special projects.
- Represent the department and The Food Bank to donors and the public through visits, written and phone communications.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education.
- Be a self-starter and internally motivated
- Have three to five years of fundraising and development experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer literacy; ability to quickly learn software and database programs.
- Have experience in public speaking.
- Have a valid driver's license and insurance.
- Be detail-oriented.
- Be capable of lifting 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Be able to work with a variety of people.
- The ideal candidate will be able to work well independently, strategically, and able to collaborate within a team environment
- Be sensitive to the needs of low-income people
Benefits & conditions
Salary Range: $42,000 - 48,000
